Movies are an amazing and powerful self help tool. The two featured films now playing, The Shawshank Redemption, and Cool Runnings, are examples of movies that can motivate and inspire. The films dramatize victory over obstacles and attainment of personal goals.
As you watch these films, be aware of any changes they stimulate in you. Recognize body sensations as well as emotional states. Which characters do you identify with? What are the strengths and abilities of the key players? Which behaviors and strategies shown by the characters do you admire? Are there parts of the film that spur you to action?
